Diana Nleya

Founder & CEO

Diana Nleya is the founder of Gwara. She grew up in Bulawayo, a small city in the heart of Matabeleland, in Zimbabwe. By luck & meeting the right people at the right time, she ended up being admitted to Columbia University in New York for her MBA, discovering that she had limited financing options. This set the backdrop for Gwara. Gwara seeks to remove the element of luck and ensure every talented and ambitious African has equal access to top education and career opportunities globally.

Diana started her career as a data scientist at Barclays, eventually moving on to advisory group at Crossboundary, an impact investing and advisory firm with a focus on Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. Diana is an MBA at Columbia Business School and holds a Hons. BSc. in Actuarial Science from North-West University.
